Welcome to the website of a unique international project called "The Rock Mass". As the title suggests, it is a musical project fusing rock and sacred music in a breathtaking arrangement featuring singers, big band and orchestra. The authors of this project are Czech composer Daniel Kyzlink and English lyricist/songwriter John de Jong. The classical Latin Mass forms the thematic foundation of this work, with new lyrics adding a modern poetic dimension. The musical styles include rock, pop and film. The Rock Mass is a sequel to the Jazz Mass of Jaroslav Hnilicka which has been successfully performed many times in the Czech republic. There will be about 60 professional artists on the stage, a unique blend of top-class performers including English singers from London working with the the czech rock band as well as members of the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra.
